Organic and Natural Living Thursday

The Story of Cosmetics!

What are all those chemicals in your shampoo? your lipstick? your aftershave? And what do they have to do with asthma, cancer and learning disabilities? Get to the ugly truth & watch the VIDEO: The Story of Cosmetics, a new short film from the Story of Stuff Project.

About the Film The Story of Cosmetics, released on July 21, 2010 at storyofcosmetics.org, examines the pervasive use of toxic chemicals in our everyday personal care products, from lipstick to baby shampoo. Produced by Free Range Studios and hosted by Annie Leonard, the 7-minute film reveals the implications for consumer and worker health and the environment, and outlines ways we can move the industry away from hazardous chemicals and towards safer alternatives. The film concludes with a call for viewers to support legislation aimed at ensuring the safety of cosmetics and personal care products.

"Are you interested in trying a better product that is Free!"

Right now you can get Renpure Organics products at Walgreens for $6.99, plus they are on BOGO this week. In addition, next to the product is a "TRY ME FREE" rebate form. So, you are getting an opportunity to get 2 products that are "FREE!"

These products are: FREE from potentially harmful ingredients such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Parabens, DEA, TEA, colors and dyes. (The only thing I noticed in the ingredients is "fragrance/parfum" which is something to watch out for, but this is a great way to try Natural products that are better for you.) I hope this video inspired you to try Organic & Natural beauty products.

Just started using the foundation from Alimapure (http://www.alimapure.com). It is fabulous! It is an mineral make-up and made right in Portland. You can get it at Green, a salon on SE Couch.
