Safeway Home Grocery Delivery Review + Try it yourself for FREE!

I was recently contacted to review Safeway's Grocery Home Delivery service.  I've never used it before, and was excited to try it out.

What I loved:
It was easy! The site was simple to navigate, and my account was easy to set up.  Another huge plus was that I didn't have to dig through my purse and find my Club Card number.

Convenience.  What's more convenient than shopping for groceries from the comfort of my home while the kids sleep?  Oh, I know!  Not having to take them grocery shopping!

Large range of delivery times.  You could schedule it as early as 8 - 10am to as late as 7 - 9pm at night!

What I didn't love:
Prices.  I noticed that many of the prices were slightly higher online than in store.  This was especially true for fruits and vegetables.

You can't use coupons.  Other than e-coupons like Cellfire, Shortcuts and P&Gsavers, you are not able to use either in-ad or manufacturers coupons.

Limited organic options.  There was not a very big selection of organic items available.

Overall, I feel like this would be a great option for special occasions.  New baby, just returning from vacation, out of town guests, or for those times when you are totally overwhelmed and something has to give.

I found that the best way to utilize this service and get the most out of it, was by shopping the sales and purchasing things you would not normally use coupons on anyway.  Things like dairy, meat, coffee, olive oil, and other "real food" items.
