Nutiva: Recipes for Coconut Oil

I just got my Organic Nutiva Coconut Oil today from the Amazon deal, you can read about HERE & yes the deal is still good. I'm excited to start using it in my cooking/baking & in beauty/bath products. HERE is the website for recipes if you are wanting to get some ideas on how to use it. Also, there is a book called: "The Coconut Oil Miracle," by: Bruce Fife. I put a hold on it at my local library so I could read more about it and the benefits of using it. Has anyone read this yet? If so, I would love to hear what you thought of it & how you use your coconut oil.

Also, here is some info about Coconut Oil:

Uses: Nutiva's Coconut Oil is ideal as a high-heat cooking oil, a "better than butter" replacement on bread and steamed veggies, or a tasty and nutritious substitute for shortening in baking. Also use Nutiva Coconut Oil as a luscious massage and body oil for dry or sunburned skin.

Storage: Coconut oil requires no refrigeration and can be stored like olive oil. It is solid at room temperature and melts at 76 degrees, whereby it becomes a liquid.

I bought this through Amazon as well and have been using it as a facial moisturizer. It only takes a little, and at first my face feels very greasy and oily when it goes on, but after awhile it sinks in and my skin feels and looks great. I got the idea from The Cruncy Chicken website.

I'm so excited! I got this today (it told me I wouldn't get it until Monday, pleasant surprise when I got home!)

Coconut oil is so good for you. I'm looking forward to using it. Starting with popping some popcorn in it tonight! :)

You can use it in anything you would use butter or EVOO. Just melt it gently if you want it liquid first. I'm not sure if this brand has a very coconuty flavor, so that will help determine what you want to use it in!
