Hi All,
My weekly spending includes the past two weeks starting 3/1-3/15. I started out with $250 for both household & grocery spending for this month. My goal is to be under budget since I have a good stock pile in both my freezer and pantry. After calculating my receipts I was given perspective on truly how much I have been spending. Unfortunately, I did not stick with a $50 a week budget, although I was close. So here's the breakdown.
Groceries
Total: $129.60
Savings: $141.80
(not as high b/c I shopped at Trader Joes & the Asian Market in lieu of Safeway)
Household
Total: $7.02
Savings: $330.72
(thanks to Walgreens these last couple of weeks I was able to roll my RR's, use my Rebate GC, and stock up on Diapers. So major blessing there!)
Total Spent: $136.62
Total Saved: $472.52
Out of the $250 I have $113.38 available for the next 16 days until 3/31.
Also, I wanted to touch on how I am effected each day by what God has blessed my family with. My husband is a full-time Grad student, I work 3 days, and pay childcare to a friend one day a week, and my mother-in-law watches our daughter the other 2 days I work. Truly our financial blessings come from above and I want to learn daily to seek Him and His guidance. These are tough times for a lot of us and we are learning together to be wise stewards of our money. With that said, continue to do your best in saving money for your family and you will see it pay off in the end. Help those in need and pray for those who need support in these difficult times.
Sorry if I sound preachy but today's sermon touched on blessing others and helping those who really need it. It definitely left me thinking...
