Total OOP: $70.21
Total Savings: $196.75
I am doing the cash envelope method & started out with $200 for grocery & $50 for household items each month. As, of right now I have $150.77 available for groceries & $29.02 available for household. My goal is to have at least $25 left by the end of the month, so I can put it in my Savings account. I know it doesn't sound like much, but this is new for me and I want to see how well I can commit to doing this & keep myself/our family on a budget.

Christina I think this is a wonderful idea and something I've been thinking of doing as well.
I know I used to spend close to $100 on household items and I don't know how much on groceries once I didn't have to budget so much; I'd say around $400 four our family of six.
Now I know I spend not even close to that for household thanks to CVS and WAGS. Groceries is something I need to work on more.
Even if we only sock away $50/month $600 at the end of the year is a nice amount in my world: New Stove, New Refrigerator, New Washer or Dryer, A Freezer so to save more, a much needed honeymoon,;) my list goes on. lol
Writing this all out has now inspired me more thank you for sharing.
Hi Via Maria, I'm really glad you left a comment. I haven't had time yet to share on my blog a little about myself or my financial situation. Basically, I work 3 days a week, my husband is in Grad school (full time), and we have a 20 month old & a mortgage payment (besides other bills). By the Grace of God we make it and by using coupons and having friends who help me get scenario's together I have saved SOOOO much!!
I'm still learning to be frugal but, by only spending $50 a week or less on groceries it really helps me to stay on track.
BTW, I love your blog and all the great deals you get. I tried to you leave a comment but wasn't able to??
Definitely get back to me and let me know about your grocery goals & savings. What Grocery stores do u typically shop at? I know we live in different states.
Christina :-)
