I love your blog. I live in Southern Oregon, but most of the deals are the same. I also like that you give the coupons matchups/advice for free. I have only been a "couponer" for a few months, so I still figuring it out. Thanks for your great tips. Dawn

Cute pic! :)

I love reading about the local deals! I'm looking forward to next week's deals for Albertson's. There are none in my town, but we are heading down to Portland next weekend to run errands and I plan on doing some coupon shopping while we're there!

I really enjoy your blog. I am local (Salem), so the info you post is the most helpful to me of the Couponing blogs I peruse. All the Oregon specific stuff is the most important to me. Keep up the good work!

Hi there! I recently became a single mother and also am going through a bankruptcy. I realized that we would have to coupon shop in order to eat! I used to think just using coupons wasn't worth it, but you've shown me to wait until the item is also on sale-that way you get a real savings! I am buying when I don't need so that I have it when I need it! I would love to see more of your organization methods. I love the pics of the pantry storage as well as the binders and such. Also, it would be fun to hear what you made for dinner with what you bought on sale. My pantry is growing and this month with a week still left until payday, we have plenty of cereal, meat and snacks. We are low on fresh veggies and canned items, but who cares! We did it and stayed on budget! Thank you!

Thank you for your blog! I am not local to your area (actually live in TN) but I love reading about your savings and your binders, and of course about your stockpile.

Thanks for sharing!

I love your blog but am an absolute novice at this. I have 8 kids and REALLY need to use coupons but have no idea how to start all this. I would love to see a very basic tutorial on how to start clipping coupons. Where to start ie;newspapers, websites. Also wanted to mention, in our area we have Gleaners or second harvest, for fresh veggies and fruit. Very flexible income requirements so you don't have to be low-income we don't qualify for food stamps but really benefit by this service. Our small monthly subscription ensures our large family plenty of fresh veggies and fruit weekly. Thanks so much for your website!!

Hey Ladies thanks so much for the comments & giving me glimpse of your goals!

Dawn Rae-continue to stockpile your coupons by buying 2-3 newspapers or getting the coupon inserts from friends or family.

Beeb-That is cool that you will here in Ptown to do some shopping. I'm hoping for some good deals at Albies this week. I will probably post once HCW has a sneak peak of the ad, so check back on tuesday.

Carrie M-I love to hear from the locals & specifically do you have a favorite place u shop at in Salem?

Tara-sounds like you are busy working hard & trying to save. By using coupons you will see a big change in your grocery budget in the first 3 months. We would spend close to a $100 a week & felt like we were buying nothing.
We will be posting more coupon funded dinners soon. thanks for the inspiration. I'm really bad about meal planning but need to start comitting to it.

Susan-so glad that you are following our blog & all the way from TN, how cool!

Ma2mny-wow you have your hands full with 8 kids, kuddos to you!! I am inspired by your will & want to use coupons, it's definitely time consuming but worth it in the end. Contine to buy at least 2-3 newspapers, stack your same inserts together & clip them at the same time. Get a binder to keep them organized & just clip the ones you use & save the unclipped ones by the date.
We will definetly set up a Basic Tutorial.
Our other SIL was using Gleaners (I think $40 a month) and was really happy with it. That is a huge savings there & if u qualify for WIC you can save quite a bit there too. Sounds like you are doing well though :-)

Hi there!

I recently decided it's time to get serious about saving money on our grocery bill and just happened to stumble on your blog last week. I'm amazed by the great deals you are finding, who knew you could save so much! I've just started clipping coupons and browsing the resources available in my area (Salem) and am excited to get started. The abbreviation list is very helpful, as are the "Just Getting Started" posts...I would love to see more about the basics of couponing and how to get started, it would be really helpful to see something like that in layman's terms (maybe with abbreviations in parenthesis) for us new couponers. I know you are busy ladies, thanks so much for passing on all these awesome tips!!

Hey Christina,

I have to say my favorite place to shop is our IGA chain, Roth's Grocery. This is the upscale market in this area. We don't have a Trader joe's, so when I visit Lake Oswego I make a stop. I hit Walgreens and Safeway which are very close to get those deal matchups you two help with. There isn't a nearby Albertson's (Keizer), and the time I made a special trip it was such a disaster (and tortured my poor baby so much), I pretty much vowed to give up bargain hunting forever. Then I saw your posts on stockpiles/stashes, and was reinspired. I'm sticking close to home for now though, better to do something than nothing eh? I have three children 6, 4 and 4 months, my husband is finishing his MBA. I stay home and provide babysitting one day a week. I really enjoy the blog, thanks for all you are doing!

Hi Kirimi, glad you are starting this coupon adventure. I will definitely start using the ( ) when I post deals & will have some more Basic Coupon 101 tips.

Hi Carrie,
I meant to reply to you sooner, but this week had been crazy. About your grocery stores. I love TJ's (Trader Joes). I try to go once a month since the items there can get pricy. But I buy all my specialty cheeses, sometime yogurts & half n half, and eggs there. They have great prices for spices, coconut milk, and olive oil too! And I'm sure I'm missing something others too. They do take Manufacturer Coupons, but I've never scoped out the place to find out which brands to bring since they carry mostly there own. Also, New Seasons take MFR's as well. Not sure if you shop there in LO but it's worthing checking out.
