Saving on Bread

We go through a lot of bread here, and only eat whole wheat varieties. This can really be expensive. The way I have found to save on this is through buying all my bread at the Franz Bakery Outlet. There is one about a mile from my house. Most of the breads, bagels, pastries, etc. are a day old, therefore sold at a reduced amount. I generally buy a large amount and freeze all but the one I am going to use for the week. In the Portland area, I know there are also Orowheat Bread Outlets and Sara-Lee Outlets, and I am sure other cities have bread outlet stores like these.

I made a run to the bread store the other day. This is what I got:
5 loaves 100% whole wheat bread - $5.70
2 kids Halloween cookie decoration kits - FREE!!

At the Franz store we go to, they have a "kids card". When the kids show it, they get a treat for free. They love going to the bread store and remember their treats every time.

Funny thing, I am making Buttermilk Wholewheat bread right now! That is a great deal on 100% WW bread & for 5!! I bet Aspen will enjoy his Halloween kit. I should go and stock up on bagels.

Yes, I saved a kit so that when Sofia is over tomorrow they can do it together.
